It’s important that we all do our part to maintain the Club as a premiere location for leagues and local and larger (provincial/national) curling events.
If you have a skill, trade, or passion you would like to share with the Club, please let us know how you can contribute! Some members may be looking for a way to develop a new skill or interest — The “Mac” has many opportunities to learn something new. We also have volunteer opportunities for high school students looking to fulfill volunteer hour graduation requirements.
Current Opportunities
Please contact the club at (705) 360-1770 or maccurl@curlthemac.ca if you’re interested in any of these opportunities!
Ice Installation
Our dedicated Ice Team installs the ice and some volunteers are needed. No prior experience necessary – you’ll be trained. Ice installation usually occurs in early October.
Youth Program
Are you a seasoned curler that is possibly a certified coach or someone who is wanting to instill their “expertise of the game” on the next generation? We are currently in need of volunteer assistance to work with the youth program on Sundays. Volunteers are needed for on and off the ice in helping the coordinators run the program more smoothly.
Organize a Bonspiel
Although we have a chair that sets up the bonspiels, we all know that the real experts are the curlers of the club. We are looking for keen individuals to take on a bonspiel or two to make it the talk of the town!
Photography
Volunteer photographers can submit photos for league nights and bonspiels. Please contact the club at (705) 360-1770 or maccurl@curlthemac.ca with any photos you think the members and the rest of the world would like to see.
Social Media
Web savvy people can submit regular or irregular content for our social media platforms.
Graphic Design
Visually gifted individuals can volunteer to aid in print and electronic promotion of events at our club. We usually run between 5-10 events in a year and unique advertisements are created for these events.
